Every Saturday, Notting Hill Arts Club plays host to Rough Trade’s legendary RoTa FREE afternoons from 4pm to 8pm. Think of it as a record shop instore with bands, beer, cocktails, sofas and DJs. It brings you independently-spirited showcases of new music in association with some of the most exciting record labels, ‘zines, music sites and club nights, all with the love for everything DIY and boundary-pushing. Expect anything from indie-pop, alt country, avant folk, pop noise, electronica, new wave, post-punk, off-kilter hardcore and some of the stranger stuff in between, all in the spirit that makes the Rough Trade Shops the best places in London to explore new music. Head to Rough Trade Shops West (Talbot Rd, off Portobello Rd) on saturday afternoon, grab some records and pop down the road to RoTa for post-shopping, pre-going-out free music and happy hour drinks.
